FREQUENTLY ASKED
Questions
Do you offer virtual or in-person appointments?
We are a virtual-only practice, currently serving families in Ohio outside of the Columbus area to avoid conflicts with my local responsibilities. We hope to expand services to additional states in the future.
How long does it take to complete an evaluation and receive a report?
Most evaluations can be completed within a few weeks, depending on how quickly questionnaires and other materials are completed and returned. Once the evaluation is finished, the report is typically ready within about 2 weeks. This gives us enough time to review all results carefully and provide a report that is thorough, personalized, and includes practical recommendations.
What therapeutic approaches do you use?
We primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps children and families understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We also draw on aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) when helpful. This flexible approach allows me to tailor sessions to each child and family’s unique needs, making therapy both personalized and effective.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, our services are self-pay only. We’re actively working toward offering insurance options in the future. We offer sliding scale options. Please reach out to talk through payment options.
Are you planning to add new services in the future?
Yes! We are excited to be working on several new projects, including virtual autism evaluations, caregiver workshops, children’s books, interactive therapeutic games, merchandise, and more. If you’d like to be the first to know when a new service becomes available, we invite you to join our mailing list and stay connected as Nova Psychological Center continues to grow.
